My interests are in the history of philosophy, the history of biology and their interplay. In particular, I am interested in 18th century philosophical ideals of science and their influence on 18th century life sciences. My speciality in history of philosophy concerns the development of German philosophy and logic from Wolff to Kant. In the history of biology, my research has been focused on eighteenth-century German physiology and embryology. Recently, I have intensively studied debates in philosophy of history and historiography. I am further working on various digital humanities projects in philosophy (visualizations and corpora analysis).
